Today until Friday are your last days to ask for instructions! Anything you’ve ever seen on this site, if you want to make it your self, ask for it! * I’m going to miss posting everything I make, and definitely all of my readers. But like I said, everything ends sometimes, whether we like it or not. I promise to come back someday with even better stuff, but for now, after February 3rd I’m going to take a break from the blogosphere to focus on school work and keeping up with my orders for duct tape stuff.  I recently finished the other shoe, so here it is until next time, Happy Ducttaping!

I’ve had messenger bags that were really tote bags, messenger bags that were really purses, and now I have a messenger bag that’s really a backpack.My friend Jewell’s ( mentioned on here before) old backpack broke, and she suggested I make one out of duct tape. 2 to 4 painstaking hours later, I got this. It’s dark blue o n the outside, and black straps inside, and designs. I heavily reenforced it with clear packaging tape, which gives it that shiny look to it. The flap is held down with self-adhesive Velcro, and has a pocket inside also opened and closed with velcro. It got a lot of attention from kids and teachers yesterday, and was put to the test in a winter rain storm.

Even though it took a while, I had fun making it with all the cut outs on the side that each have an inside joke to them. I was proud to say “I made that” and have people’s jaw drop and say ” Really?!?” It’s always fun to see.  Next up I’m going to try duct tape shoes, I’m not sure how structurally sound they’ll be,  even if they’re going to have cardboard in the sole, it’ll definitely not to be worn on hikes or extremely hot days. That’ll be coming up soon.

Hopefully , by the time I can come back to the blogosphere, I’ll be better at edges and cutting out shapes  with my X-acto knife. those  are my only downfall when it comes to bags. When I do come back, I’m not sure it’ll be under the same URL or even be anytime soon, but keep an ey e out for me for a while Thanks again to all you lovely commenters and new subscribers, you are  what makes this blog happen!  46 posts and going strong! I’ve thought this over and over for about the past month now, and I finally had to admit it to myself: I can’t manage all of this. So, I’m going to post as much as I can, until the 31st. Then it’ll be my time to go. Who knows, I might be back in a month or a year but I promise that someday, I’ll come back to the blogosphere better than ever. It might be the same, duct tape stuff with a book related something and a blog chain here and there, or it might be something completely different.

What’s my plan for the rest of the month? you may be thinking. Well, I’m going to take a whack at shoes and see what’s created , a full-sized messenger bag that’ll be used as a back pack, and some jewelery per Kirsten’s request. Maybe a few others, but who knows inspiration strikes at mysterious moments.

Thank you so much to those of you ( You know who you are ) that supported me and made sure to comment as much as possible, that’s definitely what kept me going and made my day when no on else could. I appreciate it so much.

First off, we have the most recent scream/throw worthy book, Beautiful Chaos By Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. I loved the book, I  really did, but the ending had me screaming at its cliff hanger ending. I’m not a fan of cliffhanger, especially when I’m hanging for over a year or so for the next book.

Next,  City Of Fallen Angels By Cassandra Clare, not only had a cliffhanger, it was a cliffhanger that wasn’t really expected. Here I was, thinking all was well  with the characters, and WHAM! Cliffhanger. I’m not even sure when the next book in this series will even come out yet, it’s really aggravating, series-jumping.

I had to read Flowers For Algernon in English class earlier this year, so I can’t remember the author’s name.  Although it was fiction, it was really well written so it felt like realistic fiction. This one had me screaming (inside, of course) because the ending wasn’t really surprising, but it was the worst-case scenario you dread while you were reading it.  If I had been able to throw it, I would, but of course it was a ginormous textbook during class so I had to restrain myself.

Today’s going to be a double whammy since my turn for the TCWT blog chain is quickly approaching, and I have 2 new things to show you. Starting with Drink Koozies 2.0. I relooked at Drink Koozie, and made it better than ever. It’s adjustable to any normal sized bottle or can, and is insulated with felt. It looks much cleaner and stylish too I used Totally Tie Dye for the outside, pink on the inside, and trimmed it with an awesome neon orange.  The only down side to this project is that felt is really hard to cut with a slightly dull X-Acto Knife alone, it just kinda made a line in the felt and not cut it.  But no worries, this version is much faster to make and pleasing to the eye and that’s worth the struggle

Next up we have a brand new item, the Fortune teller ( or Cootie Catcher, whatever you want to call it.)This was just something I

Pick a color, any color

thought of randomly yesterday and decided to try it out. it’s just like the one’s you’d make out of paper, but, of course made of duct tape. I’ve yet to write the fortunes themselves in but I kinda like it by itself now.  It has troubles staying folded, however, I just looked at it this morning and it almost completely unfolded itself. The base is tan duct tape, and the colors were added later after I folded it. The numbers are hand cut out of black duct tape, and I’m going to write the fortunes on the inside with a black permanent marker.

I was going to sell it, but, i hadn't anticipated the cuteness of the finished product

Messenger bags are next on my list of things to make, but I didn’t ‘get it from a book, or any book whatsoever. It just kinda created itself while I was bored with a new pattern of duct tape in front of me. This is kinda like my original tote bag way back when, but about 65% smaller and with a flap and a pocket on the inside. I battled with it for a good 2 1/2 hours, but with the way the finished product turned out, it was worth the struggle.

It’s red on the straps, flap edge, and inside, and a new pattern of mine, houndstooth, on the outside and lining the small pocket on the inside. Houndstooth duct tape was a Christmas gift, and I’m really glad I got it, it looks really nice. Although, it’s about as low as all my other patterns by now, so I’ll probably be getting more in the near future. That’s the only drawback to making stuff with duct tape, not only do you have to replenish the tape you lost every week or so, but you have to get supplies too. New X-Acto knife blades, pens for flowers, clear plastic for wallets, how to books, you name it. If it has to do with duct tape or the making of duct tape items, I most likely own it.

Thanks to all of you that suggested stuff on my last post, I’ll look into them and see what I can do It’s really fun remaking different items, finding what you did wrong the first time. It’s like finding the very last piece of a puzzle that you didn’t even know you were missing. If you still have suggestions go ahead and suggest away, I’ll get to them as soon as I can. Next up is drink koozies: probably this weekend.

Once again, I’m back! it was kind of silly of me to announce my triumphant return to the blogosphere after a couple of weeks of no posts right before the holidays, but now I’m back for good. I’ve tried one of the many crafts that can be made from ” Just Duct Tape It” (Thanks again, Sherry!). I have to say this one is better than my first attempt at picture frames, and still has some room to improve.

Printed pictures aren’t as popular as they used to be, with computers, iPods/phones, and electronic picture frames, but i still enjoy a framed picture now and then. Plus, they can’t crash and erase themselves, like some of the computers at school. better yet, electronic pictures can’t be personalized by the most versatile tool in existence.

I hope every had a good holiday,mine was really great. now freshly stocked with duct tape, I’m trying to decide what to make (or remake ) next. Should I remake drink koozies? Or attempt at flip-flops? or try something totally new and not from the book that you suggest? it’s up to you, thanks to all of you that voted on the last poll!

Do I really Have That Many Posts???

I Love These!

I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaackkkk!!! With my theme back to normal. As Sherry said, grey is definitely NOT me. I changed it back, and love that bright theme.I’ve been better for a while, but school work has been crazy. and now, with 3 weeks off I will definitely be posting more often.  Thanks to all you that voted, I appreciate it! Remember on Thanksgiving when I said  I was making place cards, well, I did, and totally forgot about them! So, to the left is mine, and I was surprised on how easy they turned out to be. Keeping it straight is always a challenge, but they turned out pretty cool. Every family member got a different color or pattern, and their name in a fancy font in the middle.

They could be used for any sort of occasion that requires a sit down formal/semi/non-formal dinner, and have fun while doing so. With the holidays just  around the corner, I mine as well start now with a whole new set. The TCWT blog chain is going great, be sure to check it out, there’s a lot of really cool teen authors participating!

I’m going to be working on some cool duct tape ornaments soon, they look really cool, but complicated. Speaking of the holidays, that calls for another poll! Enjoy, and Happy Holidays!
